Here you’ll be able to find stories and pictures from service days that we’ve designed, planned, and executed. We welcome suggestions of schools, community centers, housing developments, parks, non-profits or other neighborhood spaces that could use a facelift – feel free to surf through our pictures to see the kind of work in which we lead volunteers.
What is the Boston Civic Engagement Team?
In addition to helping schools and students reach new heights in academic performance, one team of City Year corps members recruits and mobilizes volunteers to transform school communities through physical service projects, such as building outdoor classroom spaces, landscaping and revitalizing sports and recreation spaces, painting murals, planting gardens, construction and creating playspaces. By engaging community members, corporate partners and civic leaders in this work, corps members help share the power of service to make positive, holistic change.
If you, a small group, or your company want to participate or sponsor a physical service event, fill out the form below to contact us for more info!
Probably the most hardest working group of people I’ve ever met (2 years in a row) while at City Year Boston, hands down.
I’m excited for the service day in Dorchester on the 19th of February! While on a recruitment trip to UMASS Amherst, there were a lot of people interested in coming to see what City Year was like and have the chance to do some service with us! I will definitely be there!
